AD-HOC RACE MEETINGS Posted On: 04/04/2008 11:43:43 AM Due to the large number of last minute bookings for these ad-hoc race meetings, i.e. race meetings which are administered and not subject to a temporary licensed heliport, Helicopter & Aviation Services have made the decision to supply fire cover for all ad-hoc race meetings. Consequently, the administration fee will be increased from £56.40 + VAT per landing, to £95.00 + VAT per landing to cover the cost of the additional service. This will affect the helipads at Cheltenham, Ascot and York Racecourses. The revised charges apply to all operators, whether private or commercial. | ||||||||||
Posted On: 26/12/2007 5:37:27 PM Helipad has formed a strategic alliance with two American Very Light Jet manufacturers to expand the successful Helipad web site to cover the emerging light jet market. The new site will be www.VLJets.co.uk and cover similar information for the growing light jet owners and pilots. The Find A Landing Site facility will cover all the appropriately sized airports within range of the UK. A database of Pilots able to operate VLJ's will be built up and data about each type will be published. The site will be operational by summer 2008. |

So far 450 heliports are listed, with the full 600 UK landing sites soon to be uploaded. Fully integrated with Google's mapping technology the database can be searched graphically from maps and images of the UK or selected from a list. Comprehensive information on every landing site is then detailed. |
